Arai Tour-X3 Helmet - Black
Its aggressive design appeals to naked bike, enduro, supermotard and streetfighter riders, but also the trail, off road and adventure riders love the Tour X. The new Tour X3 features an optional holder set to use peak or visor only and emergency release cheek pads.
Arai helmets far exceed every national and international FIM & ACU safety standard for motorcycle racing. Remember it is your head you are protecting.
You can quickly and easily change it for adventure touring, dual-sport, Supermoto competition, commuting, whatever. Visually, it looks like a dirt helmet, with its peak, protruding chin bar and the opening for goggles. But the Tour X Series also has a full faceshield like a street helmet, a faceshield that easily slides up under the peak. And you can remove the shield and/or the peak in no time, and then easily re-install either or both whenever you like. The Tour X Series. Uniquely functional. Uniquely Arai. And now, when others are introducing their first Tour X “copies,”
Arai is already taking you to the next level with the brand new Tour X3.
One of the keys to the original Tour X’s uniqueness was Arai’s Twin-Cam Visor Pivot System that enables the Visor to operate fully beneath the mounted peak without protruding. The visor stays low when it’s raised, allowing the peak to be mounted lower, resulting in better aerodynamics and a better appearance. The new Tour X3’s peak has been re-designed for even better stability and airflow.
The Tour X3’s visor system is also designed for the visor to be used in combination with the peak, alone without the peak, or with the peak and no visor, as desired.
The new Tour X3's ventilation combines the best of both worlds, with a total of 7 intake and 6 exhaust vents ( because dirt riding is much tougher than street. Or is it the other way around?!)
Its features include Arai’s diffuser ventilation design first introduced on the RX-7 series road racing helmets – and now arguably Arai’s most copied feature. It also uses the front vents from our Profile model, again designed for increased air intake, while retaining the original Tour X’s mouth-vent system that can either provide fresh air around the mouth area, or direct the air upward along the interior surface of the faceshield to help prevent fogging. There are vent controls both inside and outside the chinvent. Additionally, left and right side lower exhaust vents draw out more hot air from inside the helmet.
New Emergency Cheek-Pad Release
Yet another ARAI innovation, first introduced on the 2007 VX-Pro3 dirt helmet: From Arai’s decades-long commitment to building the best helmets humanly possible comes the first Emergency Release Cheek-pad Design created specifically for motorcycle helmets. Developed to allow easier access to an injured rider, the new tour X3's cheek-pads slide out easily via the integrated pull-tabs built into the underside of the cheek-pad - which makes helmet removal much easier for trained medical technicians.
These days, there are almost as many “revolutionary” shell-construction materials as there are new helmet brands. Arai’s decades of experience, research, testing, comparison and evaluation has led us to conclude that fiberglass-based construction is best at performing a motorcycle-helmet shell’s main job – spreading and dissipating impact energy through strength, structural integrity and impact-flexibility. The Tour X3's clc (Complex Laminate Construction) shell utilizes Arai’s proprietary aerospace fiberglass technology to achieve a strong, flexible shell in a very lightweight package.
Arai’s EPS liner is like no other, comprised of several material densities molded into a single piece. Arai pioneered this technology more than 20 years ago and is still, to our knowledge, the only helmet offering a single-piece hybrid liner and its unique benefit: the direct-fused contact area that each EPS cell shares with it neighboring cells creates a mutual support - as one is crushed under impact, the surrounding cells assist with the energy absorption. (Liner pieces that are simply fitted or glued together cannot rely on such a high-level support bond.
The Tour X3 also features the latest version of Arai's INNOVATIVE DRY-COOL® LINING MATERIAL. The Dry-Cool® liner actually utilizes micro water cells to improve moisture and heat transfer from your head into the airflow around Arai's exclusive Space Frame Liner. Leaves your head dryer and cooler (hence the name) at the end of a long or hot ride. Dry-Cool also allows the liner to dry much faster between rides.
