Bell Helmets was founded as the 1950's Cali' racing culture was developing, where all people wanted to do was go fast. Roy Richter recognised that those with a hunger for speed needed protection and founded Bell Helmets. He had already built the world’s very first speed shop and was building fast cars, but recognised he had a responsibility to keep those drivers safe when the need-for-speed started to unveil some harsh realities, Roy wanted to do something about it and Bell Helmets was created. Built from auto racing, motorcycle and bicycle culture Bell exists to inspire and equip the next generation of boundary breakers to explore what is possible on two wheels. Guided by pure intent to encourage the world to ride, Bell continues to enable the world’s best to be their best, the same it has since the very beginning. Established in 1954, proven ever since. It’s no coincidence that Bell is both the first name in speed and the first name in helmets.
